The first interactive portion of the event is a Dementia Friends session. You’ll learn some basics of dementia such as what dementia is, how it can affect a person, some communication tips, and other ways to support people with dementia. Anyone in attendance will be considered a Dementia Friend after the session.

The Communicating Effectively program will teach you how dementia affects communication, including tips for communicating well with family, friends and health care professionals.
